Brian Heron
Co-Founder and Director
MA (Hons) MArch ARB RIBA Hon ARAM
Brian is a registered architect with over 20 years experience, 15 of which were happily spent at Ian Ritchie Architects in London, where he worked on a variety of projects including The Susie Sainsbury Theatre and The Angela Burgess Recital Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for neuroscience research, the Grade II* listed King Solomon Academy school in Westminster and the competition-winning entry for a Commemorative Bridge in the National War Memorial Gardens, Dublin.
Brian was the project architect for the Royal Academy of Music project, which was named both RIBA London Building of the Year 2018 and The Architects’ Journal Retrofit of the Year 2018. In recognition of his contribution to the project, Brian was made an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in 2018. Prior to joining the team at Ian Ritchie Architects, Brian worked in Paris for Architecture-Studio in 2004-2005, speaks fluent French and is a huge Francophile!
Ayesha Tariq
Co-Founder
MA (Hons) RIBA Part 1
Ayesha studied architecture at Edinburgh University, where she met Brian. After completing her Part 1, she went on to work with Axel Schoenert Architectes in Paris, before pursuing a decade-long career as a documentary producer, specialising in social issues films and gaining a Bafta nomination in the process! After completing an award-winning self-build project together with Brian, the idea of Tidal was born.
Ayesha brings her love of visual story-telling, keen interest in people’s lives and how they use their spaces as well as her meticulous organisational skills to the Tidal office! She is passionate about inclusion and access to the arts and is always on the lookout for projects that have a community benefit.
